About Us

Michael Bauer "The Boss"

Mike Bauer has been building and restoring cars since 1982.  He competed his first Street Rod in the spring of 1989, and still has his chopped 1930 Model A today.

With an extensive background in the collision industry, he has earned Master ASE and I-CAR certifications in welding, frame repair, refinishing, and estimating.

In September of 2021 he decided to return to his passion of building and creating cars.  He opened Colorado C.A.R. Boss to help others enjoy an automotive culture that has been an important part of his life.

Over the past 30+ years he has gained an extensive and valuable knowledge of design and practicality to car creation.  His personal collection is heavy in early Mustangs, however he will work on pretty much anything that is pre-air bags.

Our Business Model

Our current business model is to work four ten-hour days, with four projects in the shop at any time.   One day a week is then dedicated to each car.  This allows for steady progress on every vehicle in the facility.

Projects are charged at a hourly flat rate on a Clock in-Clock out method.  Invoices are sent out weekly (along with photos of work performed), so payment is expected weekly as opposed to an up-front estimated cost. This allows the customer to dictate where the focus of the labor is directed and keeps the customer informed of the progress and cost.

The car is ultimately the owner's vision of what the car should be.  So, customers are strongly encouraged to visit their project and discuss the way the car is being built with "The Boss"!
